12 Month Professional Photos

I have been casually looking for an outfit for my son's 12 month pictures. Then I thought, do I really need one? Should I get him a new outfit for his pictures or should I dress him in his outfit for his first birthday party (it has a number 1 on it, a blue puppy (to match his theme) and his name)? Your opinions are greatly appreciated!

A little of both. He is wearing the same shorts in his pictures and his party. But his pictures he is wearing a dress shirt and bow tie and at his party a t-shirt.

We're doing a combo: son's 1st birthday pics, daughter's 4th birthday pics, and family photos for Christmas cards all in one session...so that's why we'll be doing outfits.

Both! We are doing 12 month and family pictures at the same time, so I will put her in two different outfits. One from her party and one TBD.

I have 3 different outfits we're taking for her pictures, but her party outfit (I made her a shirt) is just for her party.  I figured that there would be enough pictures of her taken that day that I didn't need professional ones in that shirt.

I am trying to decide this right now too.  We are doing cake smash pics that I have a tutu for, I have the dress I wore on my first birthday that I am going to have some pictures in as well, but the photog told me to also bring a portrait outfit.  I kind of want to do a new outfit for that in a color other than pink because all of the other outfits (tutu, my dress, her party dress) are pink and it might be nice to have pictures of her in something else.

SS: We did both.  Poor Reid is being neglected since we're having a reveal photo session and our annual family pics this fall, and then maternity pics (sigh) so we're skipping his official 1 year pics.  But for Carter and Brynn, I got them a new outfit and then also took some pics of them in their birthday shirts.
