Hi Intro and Heparin question.

Hi ladies I should have popped over here long ago as I have the double whammy of history of PE on birth control and GD. My EDD is August 30th and I was just switched from Lovonox to Heparin. Thank g-d no clots so far and controlling GD with diet and Glyburide. So I have a Heparin question. I was on prefilled Lovonox 40 twice a day and now I am on 10,000 usp per ml 1 ml twice a day Heparin. Is it normal for Heparin to make you feel a little loopy and tired? Anybody else on a similar dose?

I am on Lovenox 40 1x a day and will be switching to Heparin in approx. 8 weeks. I'm interested to see how others respond, OP. Hope you feel better soon!

I am on heparin. 7500 units twice a day in my arm. I feel ok.

I take heparin, 10,000 usp per ml, 1/2 ml 2x a day, and I don't feel any side effects except the bruising. I hope you feel better!

I see patients on heparin infusions in the hospital (for reasons unrelated to pregnancy of course!) and these are not common side effects.

Thanks ladies I'll just chalk it up to either being in the final weeks or maybe my blood sugar was a little low. I must say the Lovonox was easier, I hate the vials, but it is comforting to hear that other people are on similar doses.
