Mobile: Update on us and a question :]
Let me start off by saying, OMG I am exhausted. Delivered Wed, got home early in the morning on Friday. Hubby went back to work yesterday and it has been just me and the girls from 5am-5pm. Hubby comes home absolutely starving (he works construction) so I have been trying to even have dinner going for when he gets home. Yesterday I was able to start it while he showered, and he finished it up while I nursed Daphne.
Life hasn't stopped, at all.
I still have been working on school work, which happens to be finals and term papers this week. Running my co-op, my knitting business, and keeping the house in check.
Even though I am exhausted, things are going smooth. Bringing home a baby has not affected P's sleep at all, she still takes her normal nap and sleeps the normal amount at night. Daphne even has been "going down" around 9, and then wakes about midnight, 3-4am, and then 6-7am to eat.
QUESTION: The hardest thing is keeping P out of trouble while I am nursing. Sometimes Daphne is a quick eater, and will be done in 5-10 min. Other times, usually when she just slept a good chunk she will take 15-25 min. P knows that I am confined to one spot, and knows she can get into trouble and there is not much I can do. Yesterday it was taking her snack and dumping it on the floor... and then crunching it into the carpet. UGH. At least it was crackers and I could vacuum.
Re: Update on us and a question :]
For sure.
If we're upstairs, we go in one of their rooms and I lock the gate at the door. That way she can't go out of my sight and make a mess in my room or the bathroom.
Also, I am big on rotating toys. I have things that stay out of sight so they're "new" again when I pull them out. If the baby's especially fussy for a long period of time, this is really helpful in keeping M occupied.
We watch a lot more tv, too.
I'm going to try having him sit with me on the couch and read books...if I can ever remember to bring books to the sofa.
