Unknown daycare room switch

A couple weeks ago DD spent some of the day in the big kid room, I asked my parents who do pick up if they were told anything else and asked of any other mention of this and they said no. Today, when I drop her off (early mind you before teachers are there) I put her clean blankie in her box and her stuff is all in a bag and her name tag taken off her container.

So I call at lunch to check on the situation and ask for Miss M, the lady on the phone asks if I want to talk to her or Miss D as DD is now is Miss D's room. I said well that is actually what I was calling about and DD was upgraded as of today! I was/am a bit shocked to say the least, I think they picked up on it as the lady said "oh that is my fault I have the paperwork for parents but since her grandparents usually pick her up we didn't get it to you, no big deal."

Well I feel this is kind of a big deal as 1) I wasn't told, 2) my paperwork says they don't switch per age for another 5 months, 3) there should be a cost change (lower) and 4) I told her old teacher (who I like) a bit about DDs issues. I am just a little in shock and a little worried - DD has picked up on her not great activities lately, I don't know the "teacher" (heard she is nice), don't want to overpay, and just thought someone would say something to someone.

Kind of a vent and not too mad just shocked with the no info, but anyone have issues with room transition - this is our first one?
