My toddler has a Atrial Septal Defect. Looking for support.

Hello Mamas,

My daughter is 21 months and will have to have open heart surgery to repair her hole. Surgery is schedule for Sept 9. I am so anxious, stressed, and worried. I was hoping to do cardiac catheterization but the whole is too big. This is still a big shock for me and DH.

I am looking for support (even if your child hasn't had surgery yet), to hear success stories , and learn from you that have been through the process.

I had this as a baby. I had surgery at one year old and have gone on to have zero issues. I even ran a half marathon. I saw a cardioloigst before TTC and they said my heart was great and there were no issues with me having a baby.

I know you were looking for recent stories but I wanted to share my story so you could see a person can go on and have a normal/healthy life.
