Nanny Share - South Boston Area

Hi Everyone!

I am not sure if this is too early to be posting this but I thought I would give it a try.

I am due in ealy January 2014 and was look to join or start a Nanny Share.  We live in Southie but work in the Back Bay, so would be looking for other families in South Boston, South End or Back Bay.

Any tips people have about finding a nanny or nanny share would also be great!

We are living in South Boston as well and want to start a nanny share. We are due in October but would start looking for care beginning January. We joined care.com but haven't interviewed anyone yet... When would you want the nanny to start?

We were looking for April or May.  I have looked into care.com but haven't joined...yet.

Well we started interviewing nannies. It seems like a much better option than the day care facilities. I can't believe there are such long waiting lists!

Hi all!

I am a new mom to a sweet baby boy. I return to work November 18th and am looking for a share. I live in Southie also. I am interviewing a great girl who comes highly recommended this weekend. She will only be watching my newborn for now, but Im sure for more pay would be willing to take on another newborn.

Also, I only need her three days a week. She is very reasonable as well. If anyone is interested in chatting more about this, let me know. I can bring up to her when we meet this weekend.

Or, if anyone already has a sitter they are looking to share in the Southie area, please let me know!

Hi -

This may be a bit too far out, but we are also in the Southie area looking for a nanny in the Fall 2014.  Anyone else interested in this timing?  Would also be interested in hearing any recommendations for daycare in the area?  The options seem to be few and far between!

Has anyone figured out how much nanny shares cost in Boston?  I have another family and we are starting the search for a nanny in Charlestown Summer 2014, but neither of us have a clue on what price to expect...  Any thoughts?

My husband and I are expecting our first child (a little boy!) the first week of May, and we're hoping to set up a nanny share beginning some time in July. We just recently started looking into this so we haven't done much research yet, but it just seems like a better option for us than daycare. We live in South Boston, so if anyone else in the area is looking for a similar timeframe (a little earlier or later is fine) please let me know.

How does a nanny share work? I'm just starting to look into this now, I'm expecting twin girls in April 2014! This has been a very overwhelming process, thinking of child care I live in Southie and will probably be going back to work in July/august sometime for 2-3 days so would need a nanny then

Two or more families share one nanny to care for their kids, they can decide which home she will visit to care for the kids. Congrats on having twins!

Hi All - I'm only two months along, but have been warned by friends that daycares have huge waiting lists and to work this out early. I would be needing a nanny for 5 days a week starting the beginning of November. I looked into Bright Horizons in Seaport and it appears it is about $2,800/month. Maybe even higher now?
