Almond Milk

For those with LO's who drink almond milk, what kind do you get?  I didn't even realize there were different calorie amounts until a friend mentioned it to me last night.  I'm guessing the highest calorie one is the one we'd choose for our 13 month old DS?

Re: Almond Milk

  • I give DD the Vanilla Silk brand. She prefers the taste, and it has more calories. The "smoothie" ones as DD calls them (the fruit &protein ones) are also yummy and higher in calories. Can't remember if the fruit ones are soy or almond based, so double check me.

Which type of Silk Vanilla--30, 60, 90, or 120 calorie per serving?

  • I was giving her the unsweetened which is the 30 calorie b/c I thought it was good to have no sugar. However, I don't think the calories were enough so I switched her to the 60 calorie regular flavored. I don't like to give her vanilla b/c I don't want her getting used to a sweet taste. I use Silk Brand and if you buy at Target- they print out $1 off 3 half gallon coupons for me all the time at the register.
  • Also, a friend pointed out (& they have listed on the back that the 60 calorie still has less sugar than 1% milk)

The one I find in my stores is 90 calories. If I could find the 120 I'd use that instead.
