Take a hint FIL

I think I've mentioned before how my FIL is socially awkward.  Tonight he showed up tonight unannounced for the second week in a row.  Both times I am braless (had a shirt one) and tonight H is just in his boxers.  We were just sitting on the couch watching tv and he can see us.  Instead of waiting or leaving he uses his key to come in. 

And then he stays for an hour + showing off his coin collection.  I tried hinting at it 'saying I'm really tired' or 'H you look pretty tired too', but he doesn't get the hint and H wouldn't say anything because it is his dad.

I know he's lonely but plan ahead (he doesn't have a cell phone, just a landline). 

That's my Sunday night vent.

That blows. Hopefully he won't do this after baby girl gets here. (Also, how are you 31 weeks already?!!!)

I think he would still do it after the baby comes.  He loves being a grandparent.  My SIL has 2 kids and lives about 30 miles away and he doesn't see them as much (maybe once or twice a month).  We live a mile away.  And I've said this before even getting pregnant that I worried about it.  I feel like a horrible person because I should be happy he wants to be involved. 

And I have no clue how I'm already to this point.  I told H the other day that if she came early (due 10-1) we could have a baby NEXT MONTH!  Eeeek!

I did go put on a bra, but it was pretty ridiculous.  And if he did stop over and I was nursing or pumping it wouldn't phase him at all.  He'd spend 20 minutes telling me what a miracle it was.

At least he gets points for wanting to be involved? I hope you guys can establish some boundaries by the time baby girl gets here.

I agree with a scheduled, routine visit to "cure the craving" so to speak.

I was annoyed for you while reading this.  This would make me absolutely nuts.  People stopping by unannounced is probably one of the biggest pet peeves I have. 

 

How does your H feel about his surprise visits?  Does he know that it bothers you?  Maybe your H could talk to him about it.
