Does your size affect going into labor earlier?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but after reading the NICU breast feeding post it made me wonder ....

 

If you are small when you get pregnant does that mean you have a greater chance of only making it to 34 weeks or less? I know 2 people with twins and both are very small and went into labor around 28 weeks. I have been scared of this. Does it have any sort of connection with your body type?

Nope. I was terrified of how my body would cope with a twin pregnancy, but I lasted until 36w with no PTL issues (well, other than my water breaking at 36w!). My boys were able to room in with me and we were all discharged together.

So, I wouldn't be terribly worried about a small frame. Although, I looked pretty ridiculous in the end. I am 5'1".

I'm 5'6" so not tall and not short and I made it until 37 weeks 4 days when my water broke.

I don't think there is much of a correlation.  I know many preemie moms of singletons and multiples.  There is a very big range of size from teeny tiny to tall and full figured.

I'm on the small side pre-pregnancy (5'3" 115 lbs) and am still pregnant at 36 weeks 4 days.....I don't think there is a correlation.

I am 4'11" and 105 lbs and carried my twins to 36w1d when my OB decided to deliver me due to a rare complication (at risk of a stroke or aneurysm due to some abnormal vein/artery connections near my left ear). I had no pre-term labor or cervix issues and had a pretty uneventful pregnancy otherwise. My twins are now healthy 3.5 month olds.

I am 5ft2in and weighed about 145 when got og I carried my triplets to 35w3d.

I am tall but thin (5 ft 7 in, 120 lbs) normally and I carried my twins to my scheduled c section at 38 weeks. I did gain 50lbs during my pregnancy.

My cousin I think went past 36 weeks, and I just hit 34 vwith no signs of PTL. She is one of those perfect build kinda women where I swear she has not an ounce of fat on her! I obviously have more than a few ounces to spare though

My doctor seems to think because I'm small I won't make it passed 34 weeks. I'm hoping she's wrong! I carried DD until 40 weeks when and she was only 5lbs 6oz so I'm afraid how small 2 will be if born too early.
