CBE ovulation test

Hey everyone. I'm new to The Bump. I searched the boards to see if any previous posts had been made that would answer my question but I didn't find anything.

I started using CBE Advanced Ovulation Test to monitor for my peak fertility day because in addition to TTC we are trying to Shettles method to sway our chances of having a boy. On Thursday the test said showed the empty circle (low fertility) and Friday evening it showed another empty circle. I was under the impression I would get a flashing smiley face (high fertility) for a couple days before I got the solid smiley face (peak fertility) but this morning I got a solid smiley face after the 2 previous days of low fertility. I have heard of women having many days in a row of high fertility and never getting the peak fertility symbol but have not found anyone else that went straight from low to peak in a matter of about 16 hours. Has anyone else used this test and had this same experience? Did taking the test in the evening as opposed to the first morning urine effect the results?

Thanks for any help

Re: CBE ovulation test

  • I also went straight from low to solid but I just came off birth control and per the doctor that alone can push my body to ovulate quicker than on a normal cycle. I used first morning urine and only tested once per day. I have read ladies post that they test twice a day with the cheapies in case they have a short surge. According to that particular test it says use FMU as opposed to waiting till afternoon so I followed the directions. At least you know your not alone in that testing irregularity :-)

  • Try searching the TTGP board. Lots of women there are using the CBEFM, although I'm not sure if this exact question has been answered there.

Also, regarding Shettles method, read this book:
It has some pretty convincing evidence that the Shettle's method is wrong. (Hate to break it to you, but it's best to be informed!)
