I've been back to work for two weeks, but have had only 5 days of daycare. It's been rough. The first week there was no where to pump (I was expected to pump in a semi-public kitchen with no locks on the doors), and daycare can not handle my baby. They feed him 12 ounces of BM a day (8 hours) and want me to bring more. They've called two different days because he has "had a bad day," and now they want me to try all these home remedies for gas and constipation. He barely naps there. He's exhausted (he sleeps all the time at home). DS1 freaks out every drop off (but is fine by pick up).
Next week I'm expected to chaperone a 16 hour field trip, and I have no idea where I am going to pump/store milk. I do not want to be a SAHM, but after this week, I want to hold my babies tight and never leave.
Re: Bad Week Back to Work
Do not worry it is an adjustment for everyone. My DS it took about two weeks for him to adjust to the new environment and napping. Now he is fine and sleeping like a champ. I always gave extra BM to the daycare just so they can use it to calm him down if he is fussy, since I would do that at home (nurse on demand). As for pumping I feel for you I am in sales and had to pump in my car. Can you pump in a bathroom I have done that or in your car? It takes a while to get used to but then I got into the groove of things. I even pumped while driving. It will get easier I promise
