C-sections

Donating my placenta

I just wanted to share the website of this company that is taking placenta donations from c-section moms. Right now they are fairly new and only here in Georgia. It has nothing to do with stem cells. They take the donated placenta specifically for the amniotic membrane, clean it, and then cut it into patches. The patches are being used to help all sorts of people: in eye surgeries, to heal difficult wounds and soft tissue injuries, and treating gum disease. My doctor's office has only been participating for a year and the program itself is only about 2 years old.

Having a RCS has caused lots of anxiety for me, but knowing that my donation will help others is making me feel a bit better.
