Such a challenge! and family night!

Taking DS to a restaurant now is like an eating contest for DH and I!  He won't stay in the high chairs, even when strapped.  He barely eats.  Just wants to get up and run. Maybe we will have to take a few months off of trying to take him with us to restaurants.  He does great in stores or any place where he can walk by himself.

We took him to the county fair tonight.  It was so much fun! He loved seeing the animals and of course the farm equipment. Love family nights like these.

My nephews are not good in restaurants. They're always running around, climbing on tables, etc. it's a nightmare. I refuse to go to restaurants with them anymore especially since my brother and sister in law do nothing about it. My DD is still and always was very well behaved in restaurants because we didn't want it to get like that. The difference I see in the way we taught our DD and my brothers family is that we all sit down at the table for family dinner every night. DD sits in her high chair pulled up to the table and always has. At home my nephews are just giving food to run into the living room to play and eat. And they wonder why the can't act right in restaurants? 

I'm saying all of this because I think that's the only difference in how our children act. If you're not already having him sit at the table at home try it out there. Maybe it's also just a stage like how they can't sleep well after learning a new trick because that's all they want to do and it's so fascinating to them. They just want to explore! You're doing a great job, I say give it some time but remember to not give in a lot.

The more you take them and teach them how to behave the better off you'll be in the future. Not expensive nice places but family friendly places. We hardly ever go out maybe once every other month but my kids all know how to act when out. But I bring toys for entertainment and make sure it's not nap time.

Yea, we don't go out very often, just because it is so chaotic.  I DO NOT let DS out of the table to run around. It is just hard until the food comes.  He doesn't want to sit and play with crayons or toys.  We have him at the table in his high chair for every meal that we are at home, but I do know that my babysitter feeds him while he runs around and plays, even though I have asked her not to!  Hopefully it will pass, like everything else.
