DMV help!

Ok ladies,

You have been so helpful with other info, maybe you can help me out here. I am trying to get a GA drivers license and before I go and wait 2 hours in line I'd like to make sure I have all of my documents in order. Am I reading it right that I need 1) birth certificate 2) social security card 3) 2 proofs of residence (everything is paperless so this will be a little difficult!!!!) and my MN drivers license? That's kind of an insane amount of documentation!!!

It's been a while, but looks right to me. For the residency, I just printed out a copy of my bank statement and utility statement from online.

Yes, that's probably correct.  Wouldn't hurt to bring along a vial of your firstborns blood too.  GA DMV is nuttier than squirrel poop.  My only advice is to get there early- before they open- to avoid the wait.

My mom just went through this when she moved here in April.  She also needed an official copy of her marriage license because her name was different than what was on her birth certificate (obviously!).  She had to go to the DMV 3 times before she had everything, and then they spelled her name wrong on her license.  It's been a total nightmare.  

There are some offices where you can make an appointment, that cuts the wait time down to under an hour.  I know there's one in Marietta, just go to their website and call the number.

Thank you guys!!! This place is crazy!!!! I can't believe all the documentation you need to be able to drive (like a maniac) in this state!!! ah!!!!

but let me also say that we are loving it so far...aside from the dmv issues and not being able to find the "Made In Store" Whole Food Tortilla chips!!!
