Re: **First Tri Check-In**

  • Hard to believe I will be 9 wks tomorrow! I will continue to see my RE until the 12th week but have my first OB appointment today. Yesterday my little gummy bear looked great! QOTW: growing up we took lots of family vacations and I have such fond memories of those times. I want my kids to see the world, too. My parents will be amazing grandparents and I want my kids to spend lots of time with them and know them like I do.

  • Hi everyone! Turning 12 weeks on Sunday, I feel like that's my first milestone! Had an apt on Monday for my first scan that was not at the RE office. Everything looked good, baby is on track. Have an early anatomy scan on then13th and should have maternit21 results back then, anxious to get past all that, test results make me craaaazy! Qotw: playing outside! Hope our kids are outside kids, who use their imagination.

  • Hi ladies- i'm 13w3d and hanging in there.  I've realized I get crazier and crazier every week. Today is 2 weeks since I went to the ER with the SCH and I am so afraid it's going to happen again.  I had acupuncture last night (had it the night before the SCH too) so I have it in my head that's what set it off.  I have my next OB appointment Wednesday and cannot wait to hear the heartbeats again.  My next u/s isn't until 16 weeks so trying to just take one day at a time, although it's really hard!  There are times where I feel myself starting to get excited that this is actually happening, and then I get scared.  What if I'm too excited?  What if my excitement is "jinxing" the pregnancy?  Totally need good crazy meds that are safe for a pregnant person. :)

I think this will be my last 1st tri check in as I will hit 14 weeks on Tuesday.  That's so hard to believe and I hope this is for real! :)

QOTW:  I remember spending lots of time with my grandmom's (my grandpop's died before I was born).  My DH's mom passed away 5 years ago so I'm really sad our LO's won't know her and have to suffice with his dad's girlfriend who I am not crazy about.  My mom is still around thank goodness and I can't wait to see my parents with their grandchildren.

We told my parents that I'm pregnant last week and they are so excited. My dad actually cried! They know about our IF so of course this was huge for them. We are telling Dh's parents tomorrow!

  • Hi ladies! I am 13w3d so this will probably be my last first tri check in. I can't believe how fast the time is flying by! My bump is becoming more noticeable which is very exciting! I am starting to think about creating a registry, but it is so overwhelming. I have nothing new to update appointment wise, I don't go back until 16 weeks. PAIF brain really hates that I have a month between appointments!

QOTW: Reading! I always had my nose in a book. If my mom made me go outside to "play" I brought my book outside. I would get in trouble for reading under the covers with a flashlight past bedtime. The library was my favorite place. I still love to read, but I don't have the time to do it like I did as a kid. I really hope my kids become book lovers too!

The bump continues to give me fits & only "allows" me to post a few times a day.  I have my 10 week u/s on Wednesday & pray my LO is still going strong.

QOTW: I miss where I grew up & living close to family.  I hate that my kids live in a different country to where all my family live & that they won't experience the closeness in family that I had.  Hoping we get back some day but it won't be any time soon.

DH finally suggested we go look around babies r'us this weekend and I have to say I am soooo excited.  We will start our registry in store and then just add things to online.  Hoping to have the shower in early November to hopefully avoid me being on bed rest in the later weeks.  I'll be 27 weeks by then and feeling more comfortable with buying things!

  • Hello all you fine ladies! I am 6 weeks and 1 day today! Aside from my new bedtime being 9pm, a little nausea and sore boobs, life is good! I have my first appointment next Thursday (at 7 weeks). I am hoping that I will be able to see my little guy/girl and maybe begin to enjoy being pregnant for awhile.

QOTD: My childhood was filled with running bases, tag, hide and seek, lots of playing outside! I"m hoping my kid will be an outdoorsy kid!

  • Hello burgeoning bumps!

I'm 11w5d today. 12 weeks on Sunday. OMG crazy. Nothing much new this week. I didn't have any nausea last night, for the 1st time in a long time and that was nice. I was less of a hot mess of a loaf and I actually got some stuff done.

I donned a bella band yesterday and it worked well, but I'm going maternity jeans shopping this weekend. I think I'll hit up a maternity consignment store in our area and then try some GAP maternity jeans or H&M.

I'm still on a lot of hormones and am being ever so slowly weaned. I don't think I'll be totally off until 14 weeks or more.

We have our NT scan and an OB appt on the 8th. I am not very worried.

QOTD: Summers. My mom was a teacher and had summers off and it was so fun to go and do stuff with her, like go to the beach, museums, parks and stuff. Also I LOVED bugs and animals and I'd spend all my summers catching frogs and snakes and bugs. We had a lot of independence and I hope to give my kids that. Parenting has become so consuming and so over bearing without reason, IMO. I really hope that we can let our kids out into the world and trust that they can handle themselves and act responsibly and safe without me.

  • Hi Ladies.  I'd love to join you here!  We are expecting 1 bean on March 20th, 2014.  Today I am 7w2d.  Morning sickness kicked in with full force last Sunday AND I caught a cold over the weekend (was staying at a hotel for an out of town wedding), so this week has been rough.  We had our first u/s on Wednesday and the bean was measuring right on time and had a heartbeat at 127.  I finally took a sigh of relief for a minute hearing that sound!  I will continue to track hormone levels with my RE until I am able to come off of those, but otherwise moving over to OB and first appt is Aug 19th.  Seems too far away!  I am terrified about a missed m/c during this time, so time is going to crawl by.

  • Hi Everyone!

I was 13 weeks on Tues, doing well but still really low energy. I've also noticed that my breasts are producing colostrum occasionally which is crazy to me!! I'm also experiencing some pubic symphysis pain, especially during my 12 hour shifts, but I will be decreasing my hours to 24 over the next few months. My little man seems to be doing well; I love listening to him on our home doppler. Won't see OB again for a couple more weeks.

QOTD: I miss being so carefree!! I enjoyed swimming as a child & still do; looking forward to getting our guy in the water ASAP!!

    Have a good week everyone!!!

I'm 10w4d today and anxiously awaiting my NT scan appointment with the OB on Monday. If all goes well, we may think about going public around 12 weeks - eeek!

In other news, CRINONE SUCKS! Seriously, I was so glad to be done with PIO, but this stuff is AWFUL. I can't wait to hit 12 weeks and be med-free!

QOTW: Playing outside and reading. Those were my two favorite things in the world (and still are, to a certain extent). MH also wants our kids to play outside a lot. And as soon as we got our BFP, he asked when we can start reading to the baby, hahaha!

  • Hi everyone!

We had our 1st ultrasound on Wednesday and saw 2 heartbeats!  I'm super nervous though, because although one was awesome (132 bpm) the other was a bit slow (88 bpm).  The physican's assistant doing the scan told me it was "in the normal range" but of course that did not ease my worry one bit.  We go back for our next ultrasound on Thursday so hopefully I'll have some good news to share next week.

QotW: I have really fond memories of cooking and baking with my mom.  We would always find recipes to try in books or in the newspaper.  I hope to do the same with my kids (although they will probably go online to find their recipes :))
I used to post as 'c0debabe' but my account got lost somehow...

  • Today I hit 13 weeks and am happy to be carrying a "peach". Looks like a bunch of us will be heading over to 2nd Tri next check-in! I actually feel so much better these past few days! So nice to be almost out of 1st Tri! I just wish I were showing a little bit. I just look like I'm carrying a beer belly or ate too many Cheetos. Not so pretty. I just got back from an OB check-up and got to hear a Doppler heartbeat of my LO and got great results from the MFM's blood work. I think I'll go ahead and out myself on FB this afternoon. I broke the news to my 9 year-old niece and 11 year-old nephew last weekend and they were thrilled to FINALLY get a cousin. First thing out of niece's mouth was an emphatic "Thank You!!" I guess she's been wishing for one for a while. LOL! QOTD: I'm really looking forward to having an excuse to go to local kid events: festivals, craft fairs, science centers, petting zoos, library story time, etc.

I am 13w2day today!  I had my NT scan on Tuesday and everything looked great.  I told the rest of my extended family on Tuesday.  Yesterday I told my 2 bosses and today I told my immediate co-workers.  I am just overwhelmed by their reaction and how happy they are for me.  Facebook will be this weekend.  So things are really moving along and I think I need to make a to-do list b/c with twins I don't feel like I have that much time to get everything done that needs to get done.   My Mom and sister are already planning out my shower for early November.
So this will be my last 1st tri check in - since I'll be in the second tri by next week - u.n.r.e.a.l.

QOTW: I miss the carefree summers spent swimming at the town pool and riding my bike all day - with no worries.   I think people now are too scared of something bad happening to their children if left unattended outside - but that is how I spend my entire childhood.

  • Hi all! I am 6w6d and had u/s #2 this morning. Baby is measuring at 7 wks with a h/b of 132; so far so good!

I do have some fluid right near my cervix that my dr said is most likely attributed to irritation from the crinone. She has me on strict "relaxation." No exercising other than 15 mins of walking at a time, no lifting anything, no laundry up and down stairs or grocery shopping trips :/ I'm usually pretty active so this isn't what I wanted to hear! Plus DH broke his leg and still has a cast on, so.... Yeah.

QOTD: I miss the magic of believing in things- Santa, fairies, that people are good, lol. I can't wait to get some of that back!

  • Hey ladies! I am 10w2d today. We had our first ob appointment on Monday and it went really well. I was hoping for the green light for sessy time but got shot down due to my intermittent spotting. He wants me to wait at least until after the NT scan at 12w. Luckily I have had any spotting in two weeks. We had an ultrasound on Monday and baby measured right on track with a heartbeat of 167. It was pretty funny bc the ultrasound tech acted like she was preparing me for my first vaginal ultrasound. She kept saying "pressure pressure pressure pressure" as she put the probe in a took it out. I almost laughed. I have to see MFM also at 12w.

Qotw: Family cruises were and still are some of my favorite memories from childhood. I can't wait to include a baby on family vacations.

  • Hi ladies! Wow, can't believe how many of you are moving on to 2nd Tri already! So awesome, congrats!

I guess I'm not super far behind which is crazy to me!  Based on my transfer date, I'm 11w1d today, but I measured 6 days ahead yesterday at my weekly RE u/s. So I'll just go with 12 weeks then, haha! ;)

All is going well.  I see my OB for the first time on Tuesday (hope I like her, I've never met her!) and I graduate from my RE on Thursday.  I'm sad about that, I'm SO going to miss my weekly u/s!!

Still feeling the same with slight nausea, food aversions, etc.  Ready for that to start going away, but can't really complain as I know others have it way worse.

We might come out on FB this weekend which is exciting!

QOTW: I'm really looking forward to the holidays and continuing on with family traditions!  So excited!!

  • Roeni, please add me to the list of ladies in the first tri. I checked in last week but not sure anyone saw it.

Yesterday was my 10th week (edd 2/28/14), and we are so excited! It was also my first appt back at the OB (not my reg doctor, I couldn't get an appt). I did not care for the dude, although he did his due dilligence in ordering my glucose, screenings and ultrasounds.

qotd: I miss being able to play down the street and being able to walk to and from my friend's house around the corner, without the fear of being snatched by some murderer/pedophile person. I am sad they will never get to experience a childhood that is not exaggeratedly sheltered without fear of harm coming to them.
On 10/23/13 Baby Sophie and Baby Gabriel born at 21+5 weeks. They grew wings and flew away from us. May God bless them always. We love you beans!

  • Tomorrow is our second u/s.  I'm really nervous about it, but I'm trying to remain optimistic.  If all goes well, I'll be graduating and moving on to my OB's care.

I hope to foster my child's imagination.  My favorite memories of childhood involve hours of fun with my sisters creating our own plays and performances in a sort of Little Women way.

  • Went to OB for ultrasound - heard heartbeat, saw baby move and everything measuring right on track.  Dr. is concerned about a little excess fluid behind neck, but says its too early to tell.  And I still have morning sickness.  Last night I threw up and peed all over myself in one fatal swoop. I know...gross.
  • Hi! Its my first first trip check in! I'm 4w4d. First u/s is weds the 14th and then another on the 16th. Edd is 4/11/14!

Qotw: I miss how close my family used to be. We've had some major fallings out with my dads family so I guess I just want to instill a sense of family importance.
