I'm worried that DS isn't drinking enough liquids during the day and looking for some tips on how to get him to drink more.
He only gets water and milk. I give him milk at mealtimes (and usually leave it out for about 30 minutes afterward); the cups are 10 oz. but I probably only fill it to 8 oz. He will often finish one full cup throughout the day, sometimes not. If he does, I refill it, but he probably doesn't drink much more.
His water is out all day long for him to drink. He likes it cold so I put ice in it a few times throughout the day, but he hasn't even been finishing one full cup. He likes water and I've never given him juice, so it's not like he's looking for sweetness or anything. I encourage him to drink it, today I even drew a line on the cup to get him to drink it "down to the line" but it didn't help much.
I read online today that between the age of 1 and 3, they should drink about 1.3 litres of water a day. That's over four 10 oz. cups and that doesn't even include milk!
Any tips to get him to drink more? Are your LOs really drinking multiple cups per day?
ETA: Maybe the 1.3 litres does include milk, hard to tell from what I'm reading...either way he's not getting enough.

Re: How much does your LO drink during the day?
Toddlers know when they are thirsty and hungry and will eat and drink when they need to. I wouldn't worry about it, as long as he's peeing.
