6 week u/s today w 3 sacs.....

I am hoping someone may have some experience with this.  I had an ultrasound today and found out I am 6 weeks 1 day.  While having the internal U/S, it revealed 3 sacs; one had the baby in it w a heartbeat and the other two did not show anything in them that I could see.  Isn't it weird that there are two extra sacs and is it possible for there to be another baby that just has not shown up yet?  When asked, the tech said she was not sure about it and multiples do not run in our family.  Thoughts? I am freaking out!

    I had my second US at 6w2d and there were clearly babies in the sacks. But at 5w3d there was nothing, just one black dot that looked like a single sack. 

    When is your next appointment? I would say by next week they will be able to confirm or rule out what is going on. Don't borrow worry!!

    5/17/13 BFP!!! 6/6/13 - OMG its TWINS!

    Josie and Lexie were born on January 4, 2014 at 37w2d
    Josie was 5lbs2oz, Lexie was 4lbs15oz 
    Both had a 9 APGAR score with no NICU time
    Planned unscheduled C-Section due to both being breech
    We all went home on Jan 6th, 2 days after surgery

    at 6 weeks I had one baby and they took their time looking around thought they saw a second sac but brushed it off. At 8 weeks we had a sac that was empty and a sac with a heart beat and a baby at 9 weeks we had 2 sacs with heart beats they said for sure one would die off and disappear but NOPE! we are now 20 weeks with twin boys! .... No twins anywhere in the history of either family. Just a total coincidence.

    Yep, it's entirely possible with being as early in the pregnancy as you are. Your next u/s should be able to clarify things for you guys. Best wishes!

    Thanks for everyone's responses!  I am not scheduled for another appointment until early September.  I am going to call tomorrow to see about getting another ultrasound in a few weeks just to see what is really going on.  This pregnancy was a surprise as we have a 9 month old so if we did have multiples, we would be thrilled but scared to death!!!

    I had my ultrasound at what I thought should have been around 7w, but was told I was measuring 6w1d. They found 3 sacs but only 2 babies and 2 heartbeats. For us, we have 2 di/di boys that we are expecting and its a HUGE surprise but we are thrilled. It took awhile to set in but when it did, it was amazing!!
