March 2014 Moms

Just a little intro...

Hello mamas!

My name is Amanda. I'm tentatively due March 15; though, I'll know for sure once I finally get an ultrasound. I'm pretty jealous to see so many of you ladies have already gotten them. They don't do them until 12 weeks here. :(

I'm a SAHM to a wild and rambuctuous 13 month old. My husband is in the Army and will be deploying this week. He won't be back until May, so we'll be on our own during this pregnancy. Should be an adventure! Anyway, I look forward to getting to know all of you!

  • Congrats and welcome! & I thank your husband for his service, & you also! Your a strong woman, I don't think I could handle deployment. Also I am jealous of those who already have an ultrasound too! I won't get one till around 12 weeks.
  • Welcome.  Do you have a son or daughter?  Wow, I'm sorry you'll be on your own for so long, but thanks for the sacrifice you and your husband makes!

And don't be jealous of us that get early u/s, it's usually for a reason due to history of loss/infertility or issues in the pregnancy like bleeding.

  • My husband is deploying on Sunday, but only for 4 months (although he just came back at the end of April for one). Well get through it together! Since your LO is so young, are you able to go home? Where are y'all stationed?

  • I have a daughter named Madison. She is her daddy's daughter, through and through. lol
  • Jeez, girl, that sucks that they are already sending him out again! What branch is he? The Army has a "1 year home" rule, but of course, things never quite go as they say. ;)

We are stationed in KS and this is home for me. I moved here about 6 years ago and don't really have much family and all of our closest friends just PCS'd this summer, so I'm feeling pretty bummed. I guess that just means less people to see my pregnancy cankles!
  • And I obviously don't know how to use the Bump anymore. haha I thought I was replying to individual posts, but it's been a while since I've been active on here.
