My DS is 28 months old and has not pooped in 7 days. He has been on Miralax (1/2 capful) everyday for the last week. We have cut out dairy and give lots of fruits and prune juice. Last night we took him to the doctor. They felt his stomach and said it was gurgling. They told us to up the Miralax to 1 full cap a day and said we could try Pedia-Lax. Last night I gave him one oral tablet of Pedia-Lax and still no poop. The doctor also said that they have seen toddlers hold poop for 2 weeks. DS is mostly acting normal, but he's been very emotional. However, I think that he may be holding his poop in. We recently started potty training because I noticed that DS started to absolutely HATE having a poopy diaper. He was asking for diaper changes and even getting up in the middle of the night and crying for a diaper change if he had a bowel movement. Over the past week he started to ask to have his diaper taken off. Last night after we gave him the pedia-lax tablet, he asked a few times to have his diaper off, I think because he was feeling the urge to go and didn't want to do it with the diaper on. I have no problems letting him go diaper free at home, but he is in daycare during the day. We are thinking of giving him a Pedia-Lax suppository tonight to see if that produces any results. I just don't know what else to try. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice? Thanks in advance!!
