Volunteer for extra U/S

So I saw a flyer at my OB office asking for volunteers in their 2nd/3rd tri to serve as models for U/S tech students. Being a nurse, who was once a nursing student, I totally appreciate how valuable it is to learn on a real person, not just dummies and simulations. However, I was wondering if anyone knew of any risks associated with multiple U/S this late in the game. I may be over-worrying, but I thought I heard something about U/S affecting the fetus's hearing when multiple U/S are done in the 3rd tri (not just the normal required ones).

Otherwise, I would love to do it. Not only for the extra pictures and the chance to help out students, but also because this is really the only chance I could ever get to be a model :-)

I get an ultrasound every week because of complications. I will continue to have them up to 37 weeks when I deliver. My MFM says they are 100% safe.

I am high risk and starting at 32 weeks will receive weekly ultrasounds.  My doctors do not see increased risk factors for the ultrasounds.

I was a control subject in a fetal echo study with dd last time so I got I think 3 or 4 extra u/s in late 2nd and 3rd tri. It was awesome. Was also told 100% safe. No hearing loss or ASD in dd.

I wasn't saying that I agreed with the article. I just wanted to share what I read since the OP was asking if there were any risks involved. Sorry if I scared/stressed out any of you ladies!

My huband maintains those machine and there is no risk of exposure.

Yup. My midwifes office does one at every single appointment.

I have had ultrasounds at 10w, 19w, 28w, and two more scheduled to monitor the nugget's kidney function. My midwife has assured me there is no risk.
