Oatmeal?

I feel like my supply took a little dip this week, probably because LO is protesting against sleep like a rebel army, and thus protests BF'ing when he's getting sleepy (he makes for it in the MOTN)... I've been trying to drink a ton of water, but I've heard people mention adding oatmeal daily too. Does it matter what kind? I just like the plain Quaker oats from that cylinder can- will that work? Thanks :)

Re: Oatmeal?

  • Yep, the plain kind (quick, rolled, or steel cut).

Good luck bringing it back and hope your son gets back on track.

  • I usually eat steel cut, and I add some brewer's yeast for good meausure. I also add some syrup or brown sugar to cut the taste of the brewer's yeast. :)

  • I started eating oatmeal everyday for breakfast with a cup of mother milk tea. I can't say it helped or not.

At the advice of my pediatrician I a lactation supplement by Gaia. I found it at a local health foods store and cheaper at amazon. I've taken it a few times when my supply dips and my pumping output literally doubles over night.

  • Plain oatmeal! And I've heard mothers milk tea works almost immediately!

This is exactly what I have for breakfast every morning.
