HCG for weight loss same as HCG for IF?

I've seen ads for HCG as a weight loss supplement, maybe in pill format, does anybody know if this is in any way related to HCG we use for IF treatment? I'm not looking to lose weight, I'm just curious how the same thing could make you lose weight and be part of IF treatment...

I'm guessing that in the pill format it's not "real" hcg, but I know that there are doctors who will prescribe the same injectable hcg that we use in infertility treatments to aid with weightloss.  Apparently, the hcg helps you to not feel as hungry as you normally would and so when used while dieting could help you to eat less.  I know most people think it's crazy but my experience has always been that I was never very hungry in my first and even second trimesters and I lost weight quite easily while pregnant (as opposed to when I wasn't) so I don't know, maybe there is something to it.  My understanding is that you're not using anywhere close to the same dose we used to trigger ovulation.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

I figured it might be something like that - a different way of taking it in and much lower dose.
