GTKY or Poll or whatever this is

What's something you know now that you wished you would've known before bringing baby home?

Mine:  Your newborn will spit up milk and it will come out their mouth AND nose.  And it's completely normal.

That breast feeding WILL get easier and I will eventually learn to love it!
THIS. I almost gave up 100 times with Charlie. Knowing this little piece of info with Ginny made it so much easier to get through the first few weeks.

Also, I wish I knew that babies are normal and to not google everything. Some babies walk at 9 months, some at 18 months. Some babies get teeth early, some get them late. Your baby isn't weird and there isn't a name or phase or theory for every behavior. Sometimes things just are.

That you need to be prepared for a whole lot of criticism and to stick to your guns.

I should note that I expected it but not as much as I've received. Everyone thinks they know what's best for MY child. Fuck em

The way your baby acts in the hospital is NOT how your baby will act at home!

That I would actually look forward to, and be ready to, go back to work -- it was hard, but the right choice. So stop worryign about it and just make the most of every day of leave, and then go kick ass at work again and enjoy your nights and weekends!

That sometimes babies are just going to cry, there doesn't always need to be a reason, and there isnt a darn thing you can do about it but cuddle them through the storm...and this does not make you a failure:)

That like weddings, babies bring out the best and worst in people. And some people you thought would act right, will lose their minds. I pride myself on being cynical, but for some reason w/this baby I was a kumbaya idealist. Boy, did I have a rude awakening!

The breastfeeding this is a huge one. No one ever told me how hard it really was and that it would get better.

I wish I had thought more about our swing choice. I thought LO would use it a Couple months and it would head to the garage. Now I have a feeling she'll be using it long time and I wish greatly she had gotten the mommaroo to save space.
