Gestational Diabetes

I am expecting number 2, 30 weeks along.  Just got the call from my Dr. that I failed my 3 hour test and have gestational diabetes.  I did not experience this when pregnant with DS.  Anyone go through it?  What can I expect?

Any input is appreciated.  Thanks!

    I had it with my first.  I was expecting it as I have PCOS.  They will refer you to a MFM and see a dietitian.  I was given a strict diet to follow and was able to control my sugar without medication until the last month where I took a small dose of oral medication.

    You will be taught to take you blood sugar 3-4x a day.  I had to keep a food diary which was faxed into my MFM/Dietitan office weekly with the blood sugar numbers.

    I ended up losing 10-15 lbs of the 25 I gained with the pregnancy.  It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be and well worth it for a healthy baby.  My daughter was born at 5lbs 11 oz.
