G will be 4 months soon and she is definitely not on a schedule when it comes to naps. I'm not even going to tackle that beast until she hits 6 months or later. For now, she has one awesome nap in the morning and cat naps throughout the day. She usually goes back down for 1-2 hours after her initial wake up and morning nursing session. For now, she naps like a champ in the swing downstairs with me. It's nice, because this has gotten her used to noise/light while she is sleeping. However, I'd like to transition her to the crib upstairs just for this nap (for now) to get her used to sleeping there during the day.
She sttn for 10-12 hours typically and does so in her crib, so it's not the end of the world if she prefers her swing for naps at this point, but I'd like to try to transition earlier rather than later if possible.
Any suggestions, ideas or personal experience ladies?
We transitioned from RnPs to cribs for naps and I was terrified of the transition. It ended up being NBD! I'm a big believer in the importance of routine, so I tried to recreate some of the patterns of bed time (sound machine, stories, making the transition from a bright to dark room). It took them a few days to go down without a fuss, but it worked well in the end. I think it is great that LO is in the crib for night sleep. Our boys also did night sleep there before naps. GL!

I read somewhere that they need to get used to sleeping when they're still, so out of the moving car, swing, etc. I think stopping the swing would be a good start! But you're halfway there is she sleeps all night in her crib already, that's awesome!! Maybe if she does good with that, move the swing to her room?
Yup we moved their swing to the bedroom and got them used to sleeping in it while not moving. It made transitioning to the crib a lot easier after that since they got used to sleeping without motion. GL!

I was going to suggest moving the swing to her room, but I love the idea of stopping the swing. I never considered that with either of my sons.
I can't remember how I transitioned them out of napping in the swing. My guess is that it happened when they were too big or began to refuse it. Most of their naps happened in my arms so I clung to that swing nap!

Haha. I transitioned after E fell out if hers! I loved that darn swing, but she was too wiggly.
