Update on selling home

We had a contract after 8 days on the market! WooHoo! I really hope the family coming in enjoys this home as much as we have. I plan on leaving a letter telling them what plants are around and a few things about the neighborhood and town. DH thinks I'm crazy for wanting to do that. I think it's a nice thing to do though.

We also have a contract on a new construction home. They only need to drywall in the basement and fix a few cracks in the drywall in other places before we settle in 3 weeks. I'm so excited mostly because the kids will have their own play room! I can't stop searching for playroom ideas, so I thought I'd ask you ladies about it. What would you put in a playroom for your LO's? The room is 13'x22', the bonus room over the garage. Pics or links if you got 'em!

Re: Update on selling home

  • Mine have a 9"x10" playroom in the basement (our rooms are small!).  I have only painted it and thrown their toys in there.  It's nothing special yet.  I have plans though.  Pinterest has sooooo many ideas.

  • I think you are being a good seller by doing those things. We just moved and the previous owners left notes on various things in the house that had quirks (like letting us know that certain lights were on dimmer switches and how to operate them!) If you included any appliances in the sale of your house, leaving the instruction manuals is a really nice thing to do too--I know DH and I really appreciated the last owners doing that for us.

As for playroom ideas, I am in the same boat as you. I am still in the brainstorming phase right now, but if I come across any super cute ideas, I will pass them on to you.

  • Congrats on selling your home!  Our playroom is about 8x7, so it is pretty small, and we just throw toys in there.  I have found such cute ideas on Pinterst, but can't do any of them since we are renting.

  • Lucky! I would
Love a play room. I would get an inexpensive table and paint it with chalk paint so they can draw on it. Frame book covers for wall decorations and their initials that they can decorate. Maybe a canvas they painted. I could go on forever...

My sister is actually framing a bunch of book covers for us as a gift.  We were planning on hanging them in their bedroom though.
