I saw it posted the other day that Amelia and Emilia are totally different names. I would pronounce them the same, but was curious what others thought.
I would pronounce Amelia & Emilia slightly differently. With Emilia, it would be a little more like EM-eel-ya, rather than uh-meel-ya. Does that make sense?

Amelia is the English variant of the old Germanic name Amalia. Amalia is derived from the German word Amal, meaning work.
Emilia is the feminine form of Emil; derived from the Latin name Aemilius or word Aemulus meaning rival. The English form of Emilia is Emily.
Completely different origins, completely different names.
