I prefer Maya to Penelope but spelled this way.   Maya Anne       I don't hate Penelope its just always seemed a bit clunky to me - and its definitely rising in popularity I think as I'm hearing it all over the place lately.

We would use the Maia spelling because its the Greek form and our family is Greek.

Thanks! Penelope is also Greek which is why we're considering it but agree that it's rising in popularity which I don't mind as long as its not top 50-100ish.

I like Maia Ann(e), but Penelope is a-ok by me, too.  

I waiver from second to second on whether or not I prefer "Anne" or "Ann." I suppose that means I have no real preference and either is dandy.

My mom's middle name is Ann. She passed away from breast cancer 2 years ago while I was pregnant with my first child, DS. My MIL is Anna so I thought it would be nice. So I like Ann for my mom but Anne looks nice because our last name starts with an E. Hmmmm

Years ago, there was a comedy bit about names and how they "should" be pronounced. One of the names they goofed with was Penelope, saying that it should be pronouncedto rhyme with envelope. I have never been able to get that out of my head.

Maya/Maia, on the other hand, is really a beautiful name.
