"smart fit" vs regular prefolds

A lot of prefolds come in "smart fit" and regular sizes. From what I understand they are simply shorter than the regular ones, so they don't have to be folded down. My question is if this really only applies if you are tri-folding. Would the smart fit or regular be better if you are using a snappi?

I use the osocozy better fits and snappi them.  I think they work much better than other brands I've tried.
