After going to my 39 weeks appointment yesterday, my doctor decided to induce due to gestational hypertension. Every four hours last night they came and placed a pill in my cervix to soften it up. Then this morning at 7:30 they decided to start pitocen to get my contractions going better. Around 11:30 my doctor came in and decided to break my bag of waters and that increased the contractions so much so I quickly decided on the epidural. During the placement of the epidural my water gushed out and continued to do so for the rest of the placement. When they went to go lay me down on my back they lost Liyla's heart rate and about 20 doctors and nurses flooded the room and found that her cord had prolapsed. They quickly decided we needed an emergency c-section. I was so terrified and I was screaming for DB and kept asking them if we were going to die. They wouldn't let DB come in and I was so scared I was going to loose my baby. They got me into the OR and put me to sleep and delivered my heathy and screaming baby girl. From the time they lost her heart rate to the time they delivered her it was only 10 minutes. I thank god and my team of doctors that acted so fast to make sure my baby girl was delivered safe and sound. Liyla was born at 12:21 pm, weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces, and was 20 inches long. It was no where near what I thought my birth experience would of been but I am just truely happy that I have my baby girl healthy. I never knew it was possible to love someone so much as I love my little girl. Pics will soon to come! Good luck to all the rest of the August mamas and I hope you all deliver happy and heathy babies!!
