Trying to Get Pregnant

**UPDATE**Pink Dangling Thing?

I posted this yesterday but the board wasn't working (as I'm sure everyone has figured out) and I didn't know  if anyone would go back to all the previous posts.

While checking my cervix I came across a pink dangling thing... It's like right on the inside and is maybe 1/2 an inch or so. I can actually see it with a mirror. I tried taking it to google but didn't have much luck on finding out what it is or what causes it. I O'd 3 days ago (not sure if this is relevant but thought I'd throw it in there since my ticker isn't on here) It seems kinda stretchy but I can't really get a grip on it. I can't feel it, it doesn't hurt, and if someone else were to touch it I'd probably never know. WTH is this?

**UPDATE**
I had my appointment this morning, it is my HYMEN (or my "popped cherry" so to speak)! WTH? Who knew they just kinda stuck around and hung out in your vagina even after giving birth twice. Hell I thought I lost that 9 years ago. Whatever back to TTC.

Do you have a doctor? I don't think it would hurt to call and ask.

    THAT'S THE SPOT!

  • Okay, I was thinking Nabothian cyst, I saw that mentioned in TCOYF, but they are described as hard bumps.  I googled that for more info and found cervical polyp, which says it's a fingerlike growth.  Maybe that?

I'd probably ask my doctor about it to be sure!  I've never heard of that before.

  • I'm thinking a polyp. Could be vaginal or cervical, not sure where exactly you are seeing it.  Usually benign but I'd probably check with my doctor to just be sure.

I'm pretty sure it's not that but is it on your cervix?

I have little bumps on my cervix (nabothian cyst) after I O.

  • I'd say polyp, but go get your vag checked, please.

That is your uvula. Wrong hole, silly. In a seriousness, nabothlian cysts are found on your cervix. It is most likely a benign polyp or normal rugae of your vagina. Best word is advice- do not attempt to grab it and pull it off. ETA. TB ate my paragraphs :( ETA#2: if you can see your cervix with a mirror you FOR SURE need to see a doc. Like soon....

  • I would be seeing my DR, like yesterday.

  • I thought you were talking about the uvula thingy as well, the dangly thing in the back of your throat! I agree with banker, if you can see your cervix with a mirror, I would most definitely consult a doctor!

  • I feel like this is probably just a normal part of the craziness that is a vagina.

If you're concerned, though, like PP said, call your doctor. :)

I cannot understand why someone would come here vs. calling their doctor.
I kinda get it. The first time I felt bump on my cervix I was freaking out! I could have gone to the doc and feel so stupid when he would have told me it was perfectly normal.

That being said though, OP - Perhaps you can call your doc office and talk to a nurse about it?
  • I can't see my cervix. It's not a nabothian cyst (I don't think) I'm leaning towards a vaginal polyp. I went to Google images. I'll go ahead and call my doctor. The reason I posted here is because I don't know if it's normal or not... I mean I didn't think so but I wanted to make sure it really wasn't a common thing before going to the doctor which requires me finding a baby sitter for a few hours (not always easy) and copay's and then whatever they bill me and of course they'll probably go ahead and do a pap since I have a history of abnormal cells. I just basically didn't wanna waste anyone's time for nothing. Thanks for all the replies though!
