Contraction Scare

I have been feeling BH contractions for about a week now but they have been totally random and not painful at all. Last night I have strong constant back pain (menstrual like) and constant menstrual like abdominal cramping. I was having contractions that were 5 minutes apart. They were not painful, but they were very uncomfortable. I called my on call doctor and they told me to go to L/D. Once I got there they were 2-3 minutes apart. They were not very strong and my cervix was still closed. They gave me a shot of Terbutaline to slow down the contractions and sent me home about 2 hours later. I am not on bed rest, but they told me I really need to take it easy and no exercising or sexual activity

I really hope this is not the start to a long 3rd trimester!!! UGH!

Hope everything goes smoothly too. Try to relax and take it easy. Glad the meds worked though and hopefully you got some rest last night.

I'm sorry to hear this...I'm right there with you. Mine luckily stopped on their own, but were enough to engage his head. Here's to cooking our babies as long as we can!

Glad you went in and things calmed down. This happened with DD when I was 31 weeks. I did end up on bedrest, but she was born full term at 39 weeks. Take it easy and hopefully they'll be no more episodes to worry about
