Feeling human again

So.

It took 3 months, but I am finally starting to feel like a human being again. I think the fact that Baby Boy is finally willing to nap for longer than 20 minutes at a time - and only waking up to nurse at night vs screaming from reflux pain - has a lot to do with it.

Things aren't perfect (still lucky to get 3 consecutive hours of sleep) but still. I feel like I can finally start to enjoy my baby and being on maternity leave. In fact, I kept DD1 home today and it was wonderful. We went to the park, read, cooked together, and then I took her to see Despicable Me 2. I definitely need more days like that. And I need to do it with DD2, too.

Also? I have decided that unpacking and all that jazz can wait. There'll be plenty of time for that come the colder months. So right now, I'm going to focus on enjoying the nice weather with my family.

Not sure what the point of this post was - I guess I just wanted to share some positive thoughts with you guys.

  • I'm so happy to hear that you are enjoying yourself and had a nice day!

I know that with DD1, the 3-4 month mark was a magical time where everything sudden became easier. She was a tough newborn, so it was such a relief when I got to start enjoying life again. I know how you feel!
