Preemie Help

DD is 7 weeks old but her due date is not until Friday.  She came home 2 weeks ago 4lb 7.6oz.  I got 2 dozen preemie prefolds but she seemed outgrow the absorbency very quickly.  Every time we changed her the entire prefold would be soaked.  I’ve had her in GMD newborn prefolds and fitteds for the past week+ and she does a good job soaking these too (not completely like the preemie).  I think she is just a heavy wetter already.  She also sleeps for 3 hrs at a time and I don’t wake her just to change her diaper. The GMDs are quite bulky on her as she is only 5lb 4oz now.  I really like the trimness of the lil joeys that we have been using.

 

Current stash: 12 GMD orange edge prefolds and 6 nb workhorses, 4 lil joeys and 5 bumgenius nb aio. 

 

She’s still too small for the bumgenius (supposed to fit around 6 lb).  I need to buy more diapers and would like more than 4 aio that fit her.  She should hit 6lb within 2 weeks or so.  Do you think the absorbency of the bumgenius nb will be inadequate when she finally does fit?  The lil joeys have worked great for us so far but I don’t want to order more if 1) the bumgenius will work soon and 2) if she will outgrow the absorbency of these soon.  Help please!
