Work Clothes

I am a teacher and I am gearing up for the beginning of the new school year. I have spent the summer in some very comfy maternity clothes, but they're not very dressy for work. I was wondering what everyone wears to look professional...I don't want to have to buy a bunch more stuff for just a couple of months, but I don't want to look like a beach bum either. I'm VERY afraid that after the baby is born in October that none of my PRE-baby clothes will fit anymore and I'll have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. Sigh. Is anyone else exhausted by all of this?

Re: Work Clothes

  • I usually wear dress pants and a sleeveless shirt with a cardigan of some sort. I wore the same thing when i was pregnant too. I found some great maternity dress pants that were very comfortable. On Fridays I wear jeans with the same shirt and cardigan combo. Fall would be a good time for some dresses that can be dressed up with a sweater. The good thing about a cardigan is that it does not need to be maternity specific, I wore the same ones before, during and after pregnancy.
  • I agree with Woodsie - I wore a lot of dresses for work during those last few months/weeks.  Most of my professional maternity wardrobe came from Gap Maternity.  I liked that they had maternity versions of a lot of their regular clothes.
