Pediatrics, seacoast Nh

Hello everyone,

I'm eight months pregnant and trying to find a pediatrician. I wondered if anyone had any suggestions? I live in the Madbury/Dover NH area.

Thank you :)

Re: Pediatrics, seacoast Nh

  • Portsmouth Peds and Coastal Peds are very highly rated (both are in Portsmouth).  Lilac City Peds is pretty well liked too (in Rochester).  Dover Peds is NOT generally a very good practice (despite the fact that it's the only pediatrician office in the Dover area).  Most people I've talked to complain that the doctors (especially the older men) are rude, condescending and impatient with new mothers.
  • Thank you! I've heard that about Dover Peds and I have been conflicted about trying them out.

  • I bring my son to Dover Peds. They have a few docs retiring right now.  So far I have stuck with the female docs, but have also met Dr. Rich.  I really liked Dr. Rich.  He is one of the younger docs.  He was easy to talk to and listened to my concerns.  He picked up on a concern I had without me even mentioning it first.  I think it could be worth a try.  I feel like within every practice your going to find doctors you like and don't like.  It's a matter of feeling them out and finding who is the best fit for your child and you.

    Good Luck!

  • I take my daughter to Portsmouth Peds and I love it there. They're attentive, have two waiting rooms, the staff are really nice, and they generally get the babies into a room immediately so they're not around any suck patients.
  • Started at Portsmouth peds and after my son saw 4 different doctors in his first month if life I decided to switch to coastal peds. Absolutely love it there and have had a much more positive experience!
  • We go to Woodbury Family practice with Karen Palmer.  She is very thorough and if she isn't sure about something she will send you right away to a specialist without hesitation.

  • Coastal pediatrics is portsmouth has been wonderful.we take our three year old there and will take our infant too in a few more weeks
  • Dr. Rich and Dr. Laramie (sp?) are great at Dover Pediatrics, as well as Dawn the lactation consultant. So far so good for our 9 week old infant. And they have a satellite office in Lee which is super convenient for us.
