Checking a Pack-n-Play

We're going to a lakehouse where there won't be a crib/pack-n-play for DS.  Has anyone traveled with a pack-n-play? We have a 5 hour layover, and I don't want to lug the thing around the airport, so I'd like to check it.  Is it okay to check as is (folded, in the bag, etc)?  Any advice?

Re: Checking a Pack-n-Play

  • Look into how much it costs to check one. It might be just as cost effective to go out and buy a cheap one when you get there. Then you don't have to worry about something happening to yours, the airport losing it, etc. I know a lot of times there's at least a $25 charge each way, and you can get a basic pack n play for about $50. Just an idea

I did think about buying one, but we're going to rural Quebec, and we arrive at the airport late in the evening.  I'll see if I can find a place to buy one.

  • You might be able to rent a crib. There are usually vacation concierge's who will deliver them and everything. Not sure about rural Quebec though!

We're flying from the States, but American Airlines still has baggage fees for flights to Canada.

Thanks for the advice!  I may see if the Inlaws can pick a pack-n-play up ahead of time.
