Inexpensive crib?

We're going to get ol' Lumpynoggins a new crib, since we suspect his skull fracture is the result from falling in his iron crib and hitting his head on the bars. (Now I see the downside of mesh bumpers. Hmm.)

Anyway, any recommendations for an inexpensive, but good, white crib? We don't have an IKEA near here, sadly.

Re: Inexpensive crib?

  • Try Walmart.  My parents bought one (actually two) for their house and had I known how nice it they were going to be, I would have purchased them.  I think it cost around $100.  Mine have started chewing on their cribs now....lovely!
  • Do you have Kmart close? ?We bought these for $99 and they have worked out well. ?Of course, the ladies aren't moving and grooving yet, but so far so good.

    BTW, when Miles had Xrays, how did he do? ?Rynne goes in on Tuesday for back xrays and I'm nervous that they'll have to give her anesthesia :(

  • I have a different crib by this same company that works fine for us - we had one with DD and then just bought another so the babies each have one. It has a relatively small footprint, which might be a bonus when fitting 3 in one room :)

    ooh, that's a cute crib! may have to go to kmart...

    he did fine. but DH was in with him when they did it, not me, but it was pretty fast. i think the techs were pretty good at it, seeing as it was a children's hospital. i wouldn't worry about it too much, i'm sure she'll be fine. {{hugs}}

  • OMG, he fractured his scull?? Poor Milesy!

    We have Ikea cribs & love them. It's too bad there isn't one near you :(

  • I got the Graco Lauren Crib from Target for my twin girls. We haven't used them yet since I am due any day, but we have them assembled in the nursery, and they are very nice & sturdy. They were $150 each. I got them in espresso, but it also comes in white. They had them in stock in the store, so no shippng charges either.

    yeah, check back for my posts on christmas day. we found out the day after christmas that there was a fracture, so we had to go back to the ER to get a CT scan, which was fine - no bleeding or anything.

    yeesh!

  • i got a steal on my cribs from toys r us. i bought them for $55 each. It the marissa white crib. I think they also sell them at babies r us. I got them so cheap by getting the multiple discount and opening a toy r us credit card and got another 15% off, and i think they also let me us another store couple on top of everything. i think the people at toy r us felt bad for me that i had to buy 3 cribs, and tried to give me the best deal.
  • oh...........poor Miles...I can't help with the inexpensive white crib thing,b ut poor guy...I'm glad he's okay though...that sucks. :(
  • I got mine from BRU. It was $299 and I waited until I had a 20% off coupon. It also coverts to a toddler bed and full size bed later, so $300 for 3 beds is not bad! Smile

    I missed that post :( Gosh, how scary! These little boys sure have a knack for injuring themselves! I'm so glad there isn't any bleeding. Poor little dude, and poor momma! That must have been a scary trip back to the hospital :(

  • We got our two cribs with delivery for less than $500 from overstock.com. They're also convert to toddler and full size beds.
