Traveling with baby?

How old should DS be before traveling?  We would like to go see my grandparents and DH's sister and brother.  They all live 3 hours away from us.  It's the town where we grew up and our parents/families still live, so we know multiple pedis, etc if there was a problem.  What do you think?

    I'd say whenever you feel comfortable.  However, some people wait until the baby has it's two month shots.

    We traveled with DD when she was a week and a half old.   We drove 2 hours and she slept the whole way. Feed you LO right before you get in the car and just drive it was pretty easy and then as soon as we got to my parents she was almost ready to eat again it worked out great.

    We just got back from two separate 4 hour away trips with our baby. I would do it if I were you. I think its nice to get them used to traveling in the car seat, especially if you will be traveling to see family a fair amount in the future.

    DD #1 passed away in January 2011 at 14 days old due to congenital heart disease
    DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
