I'm screwed in the baby sitting department!

We've been wanting to try out my nephew as a babysitter.  He is fantastic with DD.  He is 14 years old and very responsible.  We were going to do situations where Katy was ready for bed when he came over so he would just have to read a few books, sing a couple songs, tuck her in and then watch movies the rest of the night.  We would grab a late dinner.

Well, his aunt on the other side of the family just moved back here.  She pays $20 and hour for three school aged kids.  And she rounds up.  My nephew made $60 last night for 2.5 hours of baby sitting.  Damn!!  There's no way I can compete with that!

Yeah that does suck.  Maybe he wouldn't charge that much though, especially if he was just watching movies.  I know the parents I used to babysit for used to pay me WAY more than i ever "charged."  I would have babysat for a lot less.

I think you still may be able to get him to watch, just not on the nights the other aunt wants him to.
