Paige just got this for Christmas and I LOVE IT! It actually stores a lot of her toys. Her big toys are still around the walls but her blocks, play food, puppets, odds and ins are in the storage unit. Then we use the book shelf for stuffed animals, puzzles and books.
We just have DD's toys in a simple Sterilite tote, downstairs.
Upstairs, we have them in sotrage boxes from Ikea. We have two of them (one pink, one green). The lids are sold separately for $1.50, but they're still TOTALLY worth it.
I totally have to second you on this one! I got one of these for DS an noticed that he was playing with toys that he hadn't noticed for months. With this system he can see all of the toys to choose from. I am really happy I didn't get a toybox.
I went back to Target to get another one of these and now we keep one in the living room and one in DS's bedroom. My house is actually organized now. Oh, and I changed out some of the buckets so the red and navy are in one room and the light blue and olive green are in the other room. I highly recommend it!!!!!!!
I got some cubbies from Target for my daughters toys. It's great because it has drawers, doors, and shelves. It's great because she can put her toys away by herself.
I'm jumping on the Target bandwagon as well I'm finishing DD's downstairs play space after the holidays w/ a bookshelf, storage unit and table w/ chairs. They have a lot of cute things!

They are stackable and are ideal for holding toys, while still making them easily accessible for kids. Luckily we have stores locally so we didn't have to pay for shipping and I had a coupon. Otherwise they are a biit pricey, but I would still say definitley worth it.
