3rd Trimester

I need help figuring this out(so disgusting)

My wonderful hubby brought me crackers that were infested with confused flour beetles. Ever heard of them? Google the image, I'm worried I may have ate one before noticing the other one crawling on my cracker. Does anyone know anything about them? Will it make you sick or give you tapeworm?

Sorry for such a first tri question, but BUGS. I ATE BUGS.

  • Oddly, the same thing happened to me in October.

You'll be fine. I don't think they would be able to make it through the digestive tract.

But that didn't stop me from spitting all over the place!

  • Ugh...I've had those things in food before.  They're nasty.  They won't hurt you at all.  I've actually read that they're quite high in protein or something that's good for you, so you can munch on a few more if you'd like!  Ha!  Ick!!

  • OMG.  I brouht home flour infested with weevils ONCE, and had a total meltdown.  If I found ANY bugs now, I'd end up spending the next 3 months scouring my house.  UGH.

  • thanks guys, I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only person to eat these tasty little guys. ;) Now I think I'm going to use this oppourtunity to nest the crap out of my kitchen.
  • Ugh, that would gross me out too! I'm pretty sure the only way to get a tapeworm is from actually eating part of one, so I bet you're in the clear there. Try not to think about it. :^)

  • protein sister, protein!

if you freeze whatever they are in it kills them. not that you would still want to eat them

  • OMG... I have this strong gag reflex and just the thought of creepy crawlies gets me heaving!  Physically, I'm sure you're fine... psychologically I'd be a bit of a mess.  Stupid bugs that get in pantries!  Where I live we get moths and moth larvae.
