Last night he cried for 30 minutes...tonight I had high expectations for a shorter period..nope he jsut stopped crying and it was 32 minutes. Anyone do this and still get positive results in the end? thanks!
Are you letting him cry for 30 minutes straight are you going in there? With Paige, I progessively let her cry for longer, 1 min, go in there comfort, Next time I set the timer for 2 minutes after she started crying. Etc. I did get positive from this method.
Sometimes DD is more determined than other times. She is 2.5 and we still have to let her cry periodically to get her to sleep. Tonight she was about a half hour, but when she was little, the longest she ever went was an hour. She would go right down a few nights in a row, then cry for a bit another night.
Going in there every few minutes like the other poster does only keeps my DD up later.
I think the second and third night was the worst. The 4th night was the best in that he cried maybe 5 mins and was out until 4 am for a feeding. It does get better! DS would only get way more upset when I'd go in periodically so I stopped and just let him CIO. But that's what worked for us and he's been sttn since!
Re: if you did cio, did it take longer the 2nd night?

Good luck!
