Hitting milestones and sleep regression

DD has had a rough few nights this week and I am curious if anyone else experienced sleep regression once DC hit some milestones. In the last three weeks Josie has started solids, is rolling over, sits unassisted and has found her feet (by way of her mouth!) Each night has progressively gotten better, but just need some reassurance?!

Re: Hitting milestones and sleep regression

  • We're having the same problem here.  DD has had horrible sleep since the beginning of the month, and has since laughed, rolled back to front and gotten way better at grabbing and sitting up.  I hope it is just because of the milestones, because it is SO hard!

  • DD started crawling at 6.5 months and hasn't hit any milestones since and still likes to wake up in the middle of the night, just to hang out!!

  • Rolling over was disastrous to his sleep.  He was up every.two.hours.  He'd roll over in his sleep and wake up.  It has gotten better.  We're back to the normal 1x per night.  He did this for a few weeks. Some nights were better than others.

It goes away, hang in there!

  • YES YES YES!  OMG milestones were the first thing that screwed up his sleep.

Think about it - when you learn a new skill or are on the cusp of something big, you dream about it and work it out in your sleep.  Bennett did this to such an extent that he actually DID things (sat, crawled) in his sleep, so it was pretty obvious what was messing him up.
