I was offered an induction yesterday...

and I turned it down.  I am just past 38 weeks and my doctor offered to induce my labor on Sunday night since she will be on call all weekend.  I went back and forth with DH about it last night and decided that I would rather just go into labor on my own and if it means we miss out on the tax deduction or we get dinged for our out of pocket maximum twice by the insurance company then so be it.  I would rather have him come when he is ready.  That said, I am hoping to will my water to break every time I go to the bathroom just so I can be done.

They will induce you at 38 weeks for no reason.  That seems odd.  Good luck!

I don't blame you, I would not choose induction either.  I had to be induced because my water broke and I wasn't having contractions on my own.  It sucked, and baby didn't like it either.  GL to you!

That out of pocket max is a killer but just think you'll almost be there again by the time you leave the hospital...haha!  And who knows maybe the little guy has plans to come before the end of the year!
