I've worked in preschool for many years. Now I'm a part time assistant so I can stay home with my girls during the day.
Anyway, I recieved christmas presents from the kids today and they were very nice but one really touched me. It was a check for $10 from a family whose Daddy just lost his job (he was laid off). I've thought about not cashing the check but I don't want them to think I didn't want it. I know it's only $10 but they may need it more than I do.

Re: WWYD?
I was talking to my Mother about a similar situation today. My little bro and sis are in college and don't have a lot of money and I didn't want them to have to buy gifts for me because it makes me feel guilty.
The way my mother put it really hit home. She said, "Don't take away the joy of giving."
In that spirit, I'd cash it and then write a very heartfelt thank you note.
