Anyone getting a 3 wheel stroller? Are there any safety concerns with the 3 wheel? Is it less sturdy/stable than a 4 wheel? I can't seem to find any definitive answers on google.
We're getting a stroller with 3 wheels. I was a nanny and have pushed a lot of strollers, and I've never had a 3 wheeled one tip over. I think they are much easier to maneuver in aisles than strollers with 4 wheels. I like the Baby Jogger ones because they fold very easily with one arm.
I am getting a three-wheeled stroller and it has excellent safety ratings. I haven't really seen a side-by-side comparison of three wheels versus four--I think it's just a matter of preference.
i have a Phil & Teds and it has no issues with tipping, etc. They are VERY safe.
If you can afford it i highly recommend getting an air-filled tire stroller... with 3-4 LARGE tires. They go over anything- huge bumps in sidewalks, tree roots, gravel, grass, etc. You can't even compare to pushing a stroller with small, plastic wheels.
Some people think all 3-wheeled strollers are "joggers" but this is not the case - most are in fact NOT for jogging (the phil and teds is not - you can use it for light jogging but it's not good for a serious runner).
true joggers have REALLY huge tires- and the front tire is fixed straight (does not turn). The ones that have a front wheel that swivels (and/or can be fixed, too) are great for every day use.
I plan to get the Bumbleride Indie Twin for my twins.
I am getting the Baby Jogger City Mini. I have heard great things about it. You can get a car seat adapter for the first few months and then it can be used up to 50 lbs I think. I wanted something lightweight and easy to manuver on my own as well as versatile (brisk walk for exercise or running errands). I am not interested in a huge bulky travel system - this seems like a good option. My sister's best friend has the Baby Jogger City (original not mini) and loves hers.
