What to do if purchased items don't get removed from your registry

Should I call BRU or do I have to go to the store in person?  I received a gift from a friend for Christmas from my registry and it was not removed. I had to go online and remove it myself.

My mom also told me not to peek at the registry because she got some stuff off of there, but I had literally just checked it before I was on the phone with her and nothing new had been removed.

  • You can update it yourself online.

  • Just log in to your registry and mark that one was purchased. I'm so annoyed at BRU for this. One of our friends sent us about 6 things off our registry- our registry number was even on the packing slip- but it wasn't removed from the registry.

  • I updated mine online after my shower.
  • Just mark it as "purchased" online and hit "update."

I know you can, but as it gets closer to my shower I will not know what has been purchased and I don't want to end up with 15 baby tubs.  I know I can return them but that is a hassle.

My SIL has a registry as well, and hers is updating correctly.  Mine has not updated itself ever.  I have had to do it every time.

  • BRU really really sucks at keeping the registry updated.  I manually updated mine online once I received stuff, but I was a registry stalker anyway.

They're actually good about taking duplicates back as long as you have the item on your registry.  So, it's a hassle, but you still get $$ back, and buy the other things you still need.

  • I'ld just take them off myself.

I updated mine after my last shower. There was a lot that wasn't marked correctly.

  • if they dont take things off the registry then how will people know they are not buying something multiple for a showerHuh??? BRU frustrates me now i am going to have to check and see if the stuff i already got is actually off there!
  • Wow, that is crazy.  Now I'm nervous, oh well, as long as they will take the stuff back.

  • I guess I don't feel as bad now that I know I am not the only one who has had some screw ups.  I thought maybe BRU had it out for me.
  • I don't have a BRU registry, but my Target registry did that to me. I had to fix it myself...a pain but whatever!
