Godparent gifts?

Did you get your children's godparents gift for the christening or just write a thank you?  If you got them gifts, what did you get?

I just wrote them thank you notes, but not gifts.  I'm also the godmother for the one year old daughter of some of my good friends.  And I received a nice thank you card, but no gift.

I got a Waterford crystal rosary when I was godmother to our friends' baby last year. I wasn't expecting anything at all, so I think you can go either way.
