Having a hard time with a girl name

DH and I are having a hard time deciding on a name for our little girl to be.  We have two sons...Luca (old Italian name in our family) and Jaxon (we call him Jax - rhymes with Max).  Our last name is very Italian and we would like another Italian name, but nothing too common or outrageous.  Our thoughts so far...

Allegra Kathryn (we could call her Ally, not definite on that)

Mia Bella

Carina Bella

Isabelle Rose

 Any thoughts?  Thanks!

Re: Having a hard time with a girl name

  • Allegra just brings to mind all the drug commercials on tv-sorry

    I like Carina or Isabelle

  • Yes, the allergy medicine Allegra did cross our minds, which is why we thought we'd call her Ally. But as I pointed out to DH...why even bother with Allegra if we'd call her Ally.  Thanks!

  • before I even read the names you had listed Mia jumped to mind for me - I think it's a sweet name but not overly used. I see Isabelle CONSTANTLY these days - super popular. I like Carina too - I think you have some good choices!!
  • I LOVE the name Bella, but with the whole Twilight thing I think it may get even more popular within the next year.  Carina and Mia are both beautiful names.

  • I love Carina.

While I know a girl named Allegra, I still always think of the allergy medicine. But I quite like the name Ally by itself!

  • I like Mia the best out of your list. Have you considered Gemma? DH's italian grandma is named Gemma and I always thought it was pretty.
  • isabelle rose

i don't like having the first and middle names both end in an "a" and i don't like allegra.?

  • I like Mia out of your choices.

My sister's H is very Italian and they have 3 girls named Justine, Cara Mia and Giulia.

    GL!

  • I like Carina and Mia, and I'm not normally a fan of both the first and middle names ending with the "a" sound but those both sound really nice with Bella :)

Bella is our girls name, we have an Italian sounding last name as well.

  • Out of those I like Isabelle but I agree that it is pretty trendy these days.  I love Gabriella or Gabrielle.  Also love Giada.  None of these go with our last name...but if we had a more Italian sounding last name I'd use one of them!  Girl names are hard, IMO!

  • if you're shooting for "not too common," i'd cross off "isabelle/a" - that's parents magazine's #1 girl name for 2008.

  •  I like Mia or Carina.

  • My sister's name is Bianca and she always get compliments on her name.  It means white in Italian. GL!
  • my vote is for mia or carina- they are both beautiful!
  • I like Isabelle or Isabella even more. Carina is also pretty (we were considering this, with a nn of Cara) and more unusual since Isabelle/Isabella is so common now adays. I also like the name Gianna very much, which I realize isn't on your list.
  • Thank you all so much for your thoughts...loved some of the other names you all suggested too!  Much to think about now and I am feeling less anxious, knowing we have a few great names to chose from!
  • I love them all, except Allegra. Mia is my favourite though, but I don't think it really goes with Bella that well. Mia Isabelle or Mia Rose are both cute.
  • Isn't Allegra an allergy medication?

I LOVE Mia and Isabelle. So cute!

  • Carina Rose is on my list!

  • Allegra reminds me of the allergy medicine too, sorry.

I like isabelle rose the best :)

Is Mia (my-ah) or (Me-ah)?? I like Myah but i dont think Mayah goes with Bella.

  • I like them all, except I don't like Mia + Bella together -- I like Mia Rose tho.
